Jim leads the Research and Technical program as well as supports both the Deployment and Technical Teams. He works closely with the Research and Development Teams to leverage our strengths and utilize our facilities and talents to maximum advantage. Jim is the creator and architect of the Cargill Calf and Heifer Growth Prediction System (GPS). The GPS model predicts growth of calves from calf to calving and provides information to help producers make the right decision for their calves and profitability.

Jim is an accomplished runner, having competed in more than 25 marathons and dozens of shorter races. He has recently taken up the additional challenge of swimming and biking and will compete in several triathlons. In his free time, Jim maintains a website named “Calf Notes” which is recognized globally as a resource for calf raisers.
